Aghnamullen, Co. Monaghan
- a map with tables referencing townlands NOTE: This
is a large set of tables - possibly slow loading. It is also a work in progress |

Cordevlish "A Map
of Cordevlish in the Parish of Aughnamullan, Barony of Cremoran & County
of Monaghan belonging to Miss Elizabeth Breakey, surveys in 1781 by Jn Bruster"
This map is of particular interest because of its information about the
Breakey family conection. Elizabeth Breakey would have been aged 23 at the
time of this map, the year of her marriage to Thomas Bradford. Note in the
second part, the lands tenanted by John Breakey.
NOTE: This
is a slow loading page which I intend to fix when I develop the skills to
merge the two scans to create a single map. Until then, please bear with
me. |

Laragh, Co. Monaghan There
are several leases involving the OLIVER family and the townlands of Laragh & Creevy.
I expect to put it all together in the next week or so and then to add
a link for the explanations. It may also be that it will be another bit
of the puzzle that links the JACKSONs of Urcher with the JACKSONs of Ballybay.
This has long been a mystery. |

Monaghan - Griffiths - Selected Townlands My intention is to add more townlands and parishes to this chart as I work my way through deeds that this kind of table helps to illuminate. |

Monaghan Co. - OLIVERs The OLIVERs who were in the linen industry held a number of leases in Monaghan from the mid-1700s until the mid-1800s. This chart helps to situate some of the mid-1800s OLIVERs. |

1860 March 15 Mary JACKSON of Rockmount, Co. Monaghan Probate. A close read of this will
reveals connections between several JACKSONs, who resided in the counties of Antrim,
Monaghan & Armagh. Many emigrated to Australia. The testator, Mary
JACKSON (?-1860) of Rockmount, was a daughter of a John JACKSON of
Banbridge. He in turn was likely connected to and possibly even a son of Rev. Robert JACKSON (b. bef 1750-1788) minister at 1st Dunmurry
Presbyterian Church (Dunmurry,
Parish Drumbeg
(Antrim portion), in the Barony Belfast Upper who
in turn was the son of Rev. Henry JACKSON (b. bef 1717-1795), minister
1st Presbyterian/Arian church, Banbridge. More work is needed. They can be
found at: JACKSONs of Co. Down who first settled in Dundonald (a
page which needs updating). |
