Killynure [1] , Armagh 2nd February 1918
My dear Emily [2] We were deeply grieved here this morning of the great sorrow which you and Andy [3] have got to bear in the death of your dear son [4] . It must’ve been a terrible shock to you both as I suppose you may not have heard of his illness. One can only ask God to help you to bear it. Mary [5] and I both feel for you. We both know Tanty better than we did the others, he was so much with mother [6] in Urker, for all liked him and mother was quite devoted to him. Mary joins me in love and sympathy with you all, your affectionate sister, Bessie Brown [7] [1] Killynure, Co. Armagh, home of Thompson BROWN(E) and Elizabeth JACKSON and their children.
