I have assembled a number of Luke JACKSONs into a table, and sorted it by date to see what perks up. There are several strays that I suspect will be solved by further work in the Deeds Registry.

1828 [NOTE:
The decade is a guess, based on context] Rev Luke JACKSON late of
Stake Parsonage in Co Nottingham but now of Hucknell Torkard... lands in
various Irish counties.... ROD: 838-82-562660. NOTE:
Need to look again at the land holdings for clues. Is he related to Rev.
George JACKSON or Rev. Peter JACKSON? In 1816, there was a “Draft appointment
and release of land in Hucknall Torkard, Nottinghamshire, from Rev. Luke
Jackson”. It referred to:
Ann Jackson of Hucknall Torkard, widow and relict of Luke
Jackson late of Moor Green in the parish of Greasley, Nottinghamshire,
and mother of Rev. Luke Jackson. A Luke JACKSON of Hucknall
died in 1805. SOURCE: The
Monthly Magazine. The Nottingham
Parish Registers record the marriage of Anne CORDEN & Luke JACKSON of
Moor Green Parish of Greasley on Oct 6, 1774. Their son, Rev. Luke JACKSON
was a subscriber to a book
on horsemanship. The Nottingham
Parish Registers also include a Luke DAVIES who married in Oct 13, 1691
an Eleanor Parker. Given that a Luke DAVIES was a grandfather of the Luke
JACKSON b aft 1724, this is intriguing. Unfortunately the 1818 will for
Luke JACKSON contains no reference to lands in Ireland. It only mentions his
wife, Mary, daughter Phoebe & son Luke. Crockford’s
Clerical Directory for 1870 includes the background for Rev. Luke JACKSON
of Hucknell Torland, Nottingham – St. John’s Coll Cambridge, B.A. 1811; M.A.
1814; Desc 1811, Pr 1812. There was also a blacksmith named Richard JACKSON at
Hucknell Torland mentioned in The
Jurist Vol 11.

Lines Addressed to a Young Lady: [Footnote 2: The occurrence took place
at Southwell, and the beautiful lady to whom the lines were addressed was
Miss Houson, who is also commemorated in the verses "To a Vain
Lady" and "To Anne." She was the daughter of the Rev. Henry
Houson of Southwell, and married the Rev. Luke Jackson. She died on
Christmas Day, 1821, and her monument may be seen in Hucknall Torkard

(ten days before he died). His property at Loonburn with all its stock and farming implements was also bequeathed to George A.
