These Kings Co. JACKSONs of Camblin (aka Camlin), Roscrea, and of Shinrone are likely to be connected to other JACKSONs who
resided in either Kings Co (aka Offaly) or Tipperary. The earliest JACKSON that
I have a record for in Kings Co. is a Francis JACKSON who received a Grant
recorded in the Down Survey. More work needed.

I have yet to find the parents of John JACKSON (1794-1873)
nor do I know which line of JACKSONs he may connect to. The deeds included beneath
this tree may provide clues. I have other related research under Shinrone
JACKSONs on my hard drive under JACKSONs Misc., but not on line. Yet. December

Research NOTES:
Place Name confusions:
- Derrymore: There is more than one Derrymore townland.
- Clover Hill: There are two Clover Hills. One in Parish Roscrea, and other in Parish Nenagh, both in Tipperary.
There is likely a link between BURTONs & JACKSONs. One
clue is that Gurtgreen and the Pollough are mentioned in a couple of leases
from BALDWIN-BURTON and then a generation later to Thomas JACKSON.

· Hunch: One possibility – based on the convergence of birthname, birthdate, and
social-economic class – might be the John JACKSON born abt 1794, who was a son
of Samuel JACKSON and Anne BOARDMAN - both Quakers. This family also had leases
involving BURTONs.
· Two of Charles JOHNSTON’s daughters married the JACKSON brothers:
Thomas & John. This seems to be when the property at Shinrone came to be
owned by the JACKSONs.
