1850 Sept 2 Armagh Guardian
Emigration.- On Friday morning upwards of 50 persons, from the county Fermanagh, consisting of farmers and their families, all Protestants, with scarcely an exception, proceeded from this city, by the early train, to Belfast, on their way to "the land of the West". They were all in high spirits, and expressed the greatest satisfaction at exchanging a country where they are already looked on as "aliens" for one in which they will not be frowned upon on account of their religion or the political opinions they conscientiously entertain.
