1785 WILL OF JOHN BRADFORD In the name of God, Amen, I, John Bradford [1] of Cavananore in the County of Louth being through age and the many Infimaties Incedent thereto apprehensive of my Desolution and being of perfect mind and Sound Memory do this Nineth day of Jully one thousand seven Hundred & Eighty five Make Publish and Pronounce & Declare this as for My Last Will and Testament in Manner following ~ I Give and Bequeath to my Well Beloved Wife Barbara Bradford [2] Provided She Survive me the sum of Fifty Pounds Stirling which Sum I Some Time Ago Deposited with her In Order by her to be Kept for what Purpose she pleased. Together also with all other my Household Furniture of what Kind or Nature So ever to be by her Disposed of as She May Think Proper at her Decease if She survives me But Provided by my Said Wife Shall die Me then I order and direct that my daughter Margaret Jackson [3] Shall have the aforementioned fifty pounds Together also with the Entire half of all my aforementioned Household furniture, I Give and Bequeath to my daughter-in-law Elizabeth Bradford [4] the remaining half of my Household Furniture. I Give and Bequeath to my aforementioned Daughter Margaret Jackson [5] the further sum of fifty pounds Sterling now in the hands of My Nephew John Bradford [6] . I Give and Bequeath to my Sons Thomas & Samuel Bradford the sum of Twenty Pounds Sterling Now in the Hands of Thomas Marshall Equally between them they paying my funerall Charge together also with the further Sum of Six Guineas now in the Hands of my Eldest Son Samuel to be Equally divided as aforementioned they my said Sons also paying the funerall Expense of my Said Wife their Mother, I leave and Bequeath to my Grandchildren John Jackson [7] and Barbara Bradford [8] Daughter to my Son Thomas Bradford the sum of ten guineas each and respectively in ready Cash in my Custody ~ I order and appoint my Trusty and Well Beloved friends David Jackson [9] My Son-in-law and Mr. Robert Dickey Executors to this my Last Will and Testament to see the same duly executed according as herein Expressed and I hereby Disapprove Disnull and make Void all other will or Wills by me hereunto before made In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the day & year just above written Signed, Sealed,
Acknowledged and Declared John Bradford (HIS SEAL) [1] John BRADFORD (1705-1789) was the husband of Barbara Coulter and the father of
Samuel, Thomas and Margaret BRADFORD.
