He was born in Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan (where his mother also came from)- one of six children. A half third cousin of Sir Thomas JACKSON. He was referred to as "A.H.G.Gilmore" when he worked as a junior with the Hong Kong Shanghai bank from 1898 until he died there in 1907. Hong Kong (see Frank HH King, p581.) He was a cousin of Samuel Gilmore.
