Jacksons in St. Peters Church Dublin. I have made a start at interpolating other known facts. Where possible, I have included a link to a known family tree. In future, correlating this data with deeds research will likely be productive.

Jacksons in St. Peters Church Dublin

This table has been compiled using records included in  Irish Genealogy Church records as well as in the Register of the Parish of St. Peter & St. Kevin, Dublin, 1669-1761. Some of the families are also recorded in my Rootsweb Family Tree. The registers have not been filmed and posted on line, so there are numerous entries where I have indicated that there is currently no further information.

JACKSONs were part of the parish since the earliest days of the known records. The parishes precede the first recorded records, and JACKSONs were likely there then as well. St. Kevin, which has since had a replacement structure built, was between Camden Row & St. Kevin Street. The parish included the modern districts of Rathmines, Harold’s Cross, Cullenswood, Ranelagh and Milltown. In the early 1660s, the parish was called S. Peters on the Mount. In the 1680s, S. Kevins was too small, only able to accomodate 1/6th  of its parishioners, and hence the two parishes were united. Some of the tombstone transcriptions are in Journal for the Preservation of Memorials of the Dead, Ireland, vol vi to viii.

Street names in many instances have changed. For example:  Little Butter Lane is now Drury Street; College Lane is now Grafton St.; Rapparee Alley is now Glovers’ Alley.
