Edward JACKSON effects under £200 late of Ballinagh, Co. Cavan, Grocer d 11 Apr 1857…NOTE: Possibly Ballinlough, Parish of Annagh, Barony of Lower Loughtee. He is likely related to this John JACKSON:  INSOLVENT DEBTORS October 1, 1864 Cavan Observer

John JACKSON, Ballinagh, publican and pensioner, was opposed by Mr. Samuel KNIPE, on behalf of Messrs. CINNAMON and DUNVILLE, merchants, Newry. After some discussion, the case was adjourned until next Session.

William JACKSON late of Rahulan Co. Cavan d. 21 Oct 1858 at Rahulan proved by Widdiss JACKSON and Isaac JACKSON both of Rathulan, farmers. NOTE: Rahulan is likely Raheelan, parish of Drumlane, Barony of Lower Loughtee. The JACKSON presence in this townland goes back at least as far as the 1761 Poll books when leased by a Henry JACKSON, a James JACKSON, and a Robert JACKSON. In 1833, Tithe Applotment Books 1823-37 a Widdows JACKSON leased or owned at Rafian, Parish of Drumlane, Barony of Lower Loughtee. See also probate of Isaac JACKSON d.1912.

NOTE: Darraragh aka Derryragh is in Parish Templeport, Barony of Tullyhaw,Co. Cavan. See Wiki for more detail on the history of the townland.

Jane Hudson JACKSON

Will Probated of Jane Hudson JACKSON Sept 24, 1879 late of Belturbuet, Co. Cavan who died June 28, 1870 at same place was proved at Cavan by Rev. James McCreight JACKSON of Belturbet, aforesaid Clerk, one of the executors.. Effects under £100.

NOTE: The index of deaths records her age as 55. She was a widow.

NOTE: Belturbet Urban includes one townland: Noghan , Parish Drumlane, Barony Loughtee Lower. was still home to JACKSONs as recently as 2011.  There were JACKSONs there as early as 1780 (birth of James JACKSON). John JACKSON of Carnaleck, Belturbet died October 10, 2011. Belturbet Town is in the parish of Annagh, Loughtee Lower. The 1912 probate of  Rev. James McCreight JACKSON was included in the Wicklow Probates. In the mid-1600s, Quakers settled here, including Anthony JACKSON (1628- bet1681-96).

Thomas James JACKSON

Rev Thomas James JACKSON late of Riversdale Beltburbet Co Cavan d 16 Sep 1881 proved at Cavan by Rev James McCreight JACKSON of the rectory Beltburbet Clerk.  Effects £412,553 18s 11d NOTE: His death cert says he was age 66 and a Dr. – but likely he was a Rev Dr. His son Rev. James McCreight JACKSONs was at his death. His son’s will was probated in 1912. He was late of Florence Terrace, Bray, Co. Wicklow.  NOTE: Belturbet was still home to JACKSONs as recently as 2011. John JACKSON of Carnaleck, Belturbet died October 10, 2011. There were JACKSONs there as early as 1780 (birth of James JACKSON). Belturbet Town is in the parish of Annagh, Loughtee Lower..  In the mid-1600s, Quakers settled here, including Anthony JACKSON (1628- bet1681-96).

Effects: £122. NOTE: Drumbullion,is in the parish of Killashandra,, Barony of Tullyhunco. A Robert JACKSON’s holdings in 1873 and 1880 are described in Farnham Papers National Library of Ireland : 21. F. 118 /24 & 35. A Robert JACKSON of Drumbullion in 1832 was recorded in the Tithe Applotment Books 1823-37.

James JACKSON late of Poles Co Cavan farmer d 15 Sep 1889 at same granted to John JACKSON of same place farmer, his brother.  Effects £379 16s NOTE: See the probate of his brother in 1901 beneath. Castlepoles, Parish of Killashandra, Barony of Tullyhunco.  The townland on the eastern border is Behy where a James and John JACKSON eash paid tithes in 1832.

Robert JACKSON late of Raheeland Co Cavan famer d 2 May 1895 at same place proved at Cavan by James SEWELL of Belturbet in said County, Grocer, one of the executors.  Effects £95.  NOTE: Raheelan, parish of Drumlane, Barony of Lower Loughtee.  The JACKSON presence in this townland goes back at least as far as the 1761 Poll books when leased by a Henry JACKSON, a James JACKSON, and a Robert JACKSON.

Probate April 12, will of John JACKSON late of Killykeen Cottage, Co. Cavan, Farmer, who died July 16, 1896 granted at Cavan to William JACKSON of Eonish, said County, Farmer Effects: £69. NOTE: IN the 1901 Census William JACKSON age 70 of Eonish Island is a Presbyterian farmer, widowed and living with his son Willie age 29 & daughter Isabella age 26. Killykeen Cottage is in the Parish of Kilmore, Barony Upper Loughtee, as is Eonish. The island is in Lough Oughter. His farm was surveyed in 1889.

John JACKSON late of Cornaleek Co Cavan farmer d 22 Oct 1899 granted to Robert JACKSON Farmer the son effects £150 NOTE: In the 1911 Census Robert JACKSON is living alone, single, age 50 at House #3, Cornalck, Kilconny, Co. Cavan. Cornaleck , Parish of Drumlane, Barony Lower Loughtee. This townland borders on Raheelan – which has had centuries-long JACKSON presence. It is possible this is the same John JACKSON:April 5, 1862 John JACKSON, a caretaker in the employment of the Right Hon. Lord Farnham, K.P., appeared to prosecute William SHERIDAN and Patrick CARTY, two young men, for having, on Sunday, the 23rd of March, trespassed on the lands of Killykeen, with a dog and gun, and shot at waterfowl there

NOTE: In the 1901 Census John JACKSON age 70 is living with his wife Margaret age 60. They are CoI, farmers, and both born in Co. Cavan. She is still alive in the 1911 Census.  Castlepoles is in the southern part of the Parish of Killashandra, Barony of Tullyhunco. The townland on the eastern border in Behy where a James and John JACKSON each paid tithes in 1832.

Effects: £116 NOTE: In the 1901 Census Robert is age 45, living with his wife Jane and 3 sons: Robert age 13; James age 11; Richard age 3. They were all born in Co. Cavan. Drumbullion, parish Killashandra, Barony of Tullyhunco.  A Robert JACKSON’s  holdings in 1873 and 1880 are described in Farnham Papers National Library of Ireland : 21. F. 118 /24 & 35. Cavan, Farmer who died 24 February 1903 granted at Cavan to Patrick JACKSON, Farmer, Effects £91 15s NOTE: IN the 1901 Census William JACKSON age 60 lives with his sister Anne JACKSON and 2 nephews: John age 35 and Patrick age 32. They are all Roman Catholic and all unmarried farmers residing at House #3, Killygoan, Carrafin, Cavan, aka Killygowan, Parish Kilmore, Barony Upper Loughtee.

NOTE:  Cornaleck , Parish of Drumlane, Barony Lower Loughtee.  This townland borders on Raheelan – which has had centuries-long JACKSON presence.

Susan JACKSON

Administration (with the will) October 31, 1918 of estate of Susan JACKSON late of Creeve Co., Cavan widow who died July 16 1911 granted at Cavan to Robert William JACKSON Farmer. Effects £151 1s 7d. NOTE: In the 1901 Census, Susan is age 50 (b 1851), widowed and living in House #1 Creeve or Corgarve, Clonervy, Cavan. Her daughter Susanna age 19, Robert William age 17 and Thomas George age 12, all CoI and all b in Co. Cavan. In the 1911 Census she was a widow who had been married for 19 years, had 6 children, 4 living. The 3 children still live with her. Corgrave also called Creeve is a townland, parish Castleterra, Upper Loughtee.

Isaac JACKSON

Probate of will of Isaac JACKSON, late of Raheelan Co Cavan Farmer who died 11 April 1912 granted at Cavan to William JACKSON and Thomas JACKSON, Farmers. Effects £967 10s 0d. Resworn £726 6s 0d. NOTE: In the 1901 Census, he is 65 years old (b 1836), CoI, living with wife Sarah JACKSON age 52 & children: William age 26 (b 1875); Rachel W. Age 17 (b.1884); Thomas age 15 (b 1886) & Selina age 12 (b1889). Also brother Samuel JACKSON (b 1828). All were born in Co. Cavan. In 1911 Census, brother Samuel is no living there. The sons William & Thomas are still unmarried, and the parents had been married 38 years (1873) and had 9 children, all of who were living. NOTE: It is possible that he the Isaac JACKSON who married Sarah PIERSON of Co. Cavan. They had a daughter born at Raberlan 30 Jan 1881. [likely Raheelan], Co. Cavan  NOTE: Raheelan, parish of Drumlane, Barony of Lower Loughtee.  The JACKSON presence in Raheelan goes back at least as far as the 1761 Poll books when leased by a Henry JACKSON, a James JACKSON, and a Robert JACKSON.
