BRADFORD Will Abstracts from PRONI I have added my own notes and footnotes as part of making sense and finding connections.
.
[1] Charlotte BRADFORD (1848-1882) daughter of Thomas BRADFORD & Margaret WALLACE. She died unmarried. [2] Samuel BRADFORD (-1915) son of Thomas BRADFORD & Margaret WALLACE. The date of death may be incorrect if he and the Samuel BRADFORD of Janeville are not the same person. At present, I have them this way based on notes taken at the Dundalk library which gave his wife as Sarah Louise. [3] Samuel BRADFORD (-1915) of Janeville Dunleer County Louth and probably son of Thomas BRADFORD & Margaret WALLACE. [4] Sarah Louise BRADFORD wife of Samuel BRADFORD of Janeville Dunleer County Louth. If the notes at Dundalk library were accurate, she would have been Sarah Louis WILSON. [5] William BRADFORD (-1841) son of William & Ann of Ravensdale, Ballymascanlon, Co. Louth. At time of death he was of Lochanmore , County Louth - a Gentleman and a Bachelor [6] William Henry McCullagh b: Abt. 1844 d: 09 Mar 1871, son of Rose Anne BRADFORD (Abt. 1806 - 1853 & Wm McCULLAGH (1805 – 1864) of Dundalk. [7] Robert BRADFORD (-1861) of Edanea, Co. Monaghan [8] Moses BRADFORD – likely Moses BRADFORD (-1873). [9] Moses BRADFORD (-1873) [10] Anne BRADFORD [11] At the Ford of the Birches. p22. In 1785, the TENISONs granted two leases for part of this [Edenaneane] townland to the brothers John and Robert BRADFORD for three lives renewable forever. John’s rent was £44 and Robert’s was £22 per year. The three lives mentioned in John’s lease were Moses BRADFORD [associated with Sam Gray in the Loan Bank] aged about 18 years, son of John; Robert CALVERT, aged about 12 years, son of William CALVERT of Drumgavny and David GILLESIE, aged about 12 years, son of John GILLESPIE of Drummuck. Bradford STUART held most of the townland in 1860. The tenants eventually bought out their holding following the Land Acts of 1881 and 1903/1909. p. 235 Owen MURPHY who helped Moses draft his last will and testament was murdered by Sam Gray. p.463 Richard McMAHON gave evidence for the plaintiff Bradford STUART in his suit for the ejection and recovery of lands arising from the disputed will of Moses BRADFORD, uncle of the plaintiff, against Sam GRAY in August 1840. p. 469. Sam Gray managed a loan fund financed by his wealthy friend, Moses BRADFORD of Edenaneane. p. 471 The whole story of “The Great Will Case”. I am curious about Sam GRAY’s second wife Agnes who was “related to BRADFORD”. p. 166. An earlier Moses: “Here lieth the remains of Moses BRADFORD, senior, Edenanea died 7 February 1819, a. 76 years.” NOTE: This would make him born 1763. Full Circle p19. A Moses BRADFORD of Ednanae was a grandson of Rev. James JACKSON [12] Margaret BRADFORD (1876-1874) daughter of Thomas BRADFORD & Elizabeth BREAKEY. [13] Mary Jane OLIVER daughter of Benjamin OLIVER and Elizabeth BRADFORD (sister of Margaret) [14] Alexander DICKIE son of Robert DICKIE & Mary Anne WALLACE [15] Margaret BRADFORD nèe WALLACE (1811-1885), wife of Thomas BRADFORD (1792-1872) of Carnbeg. She was the daughter of John WALLACE & Jane DONALDSON. At the time of her death, her son Thomas was also living at Londonderry. [16] Thomas BRADFORD (1844-1899) The son of Margaret BRADFORD nèe WALLACE (1811-1885). [17] Mary Anne BRADFORD (1839-) Most likely the daughter of Margaret BRADFORD nèe WALLACE (1811-1885). I have a husband for her, John ELLISON – which may or may not be correct. It came from Dundalk Library records. [18] Sarah BRADFORD (1846-) The daughter of Margaret BRADFORD nèe WALLACE (1811-1885). Since she was unmarried at the time of her brother’s death, it is likely that she never married. [19] Thomas BRADFORD (1844-1899) The son of Margaret BRADFORD nèe WALLACE (1811-1885). [20] Jane ROBINSON nèe BRADFORD, sister of Thomas BRADFORD (1844-1899). Wife of Francis ROBINSON. [21] Sarah BRADFORD (1846-) The daughter of Margaret BRADFORD nèe WALLACE (1811-1885). Since she was unmarried at the time of her brother’s death, it is likely that she never married.
